Draft a scope from photos

Turn walkthrough photos into a draft repair scope, then accept only the lines you want in the estimator.

Who it is for

This is for someone who already has a property and walkthrough photos and wants a first repair list. Free includes 2 photo repair lists a month. Solo includes 20. Team and Business have no monthly photo-scope count.

The draft is not the estimate. Accept scope is the approval. Until that click, the estimator is unchanged.

Before you start

  • A saved project. See create a property. Photo scope appears in the left sidebar after the first property. The short menu before that is only Home, AI Studio, and Getting started.
  • Room, exterior, and system photos on that project. See keep a photo log.
  • A photo scope left this month. See check AI usage for the month.

Steps

  1. Open Photo scope

Click Photo scope in the left sidebar. The page kicker is AI · Build and the title is Photos → scope. The subtitle says walkthrough images become estimate line items from your templates.

  2. Pick the project and add photos

If you have more than one active project, choose it in the Project list. The left card is Walkthrough set plus the project name, with a photo count. If the grid says No walkthrough photos yet, click Upload walkthrough photos. That opens the project's Photo log. You can also click Upload in the top bar. On the photo log, use Image, optional Caption, a phase of Before, During, After, or Other, Room / area, Date taken, and Condition, then Upload photo.

Photo scope: pick the project, upload photos, then Generate scope.
  3. Generate the draft

Back on Photos → scope, click Generate scope. The button reads Generating… while it runs. The status line says Detecting rooms · matching materials · drafting quantities…. The right card is Draft estimate. Before a run it says No draft yet. Generate scope from photos or room tags.

  4. Review every line

Each line shows a description, the scope of work, and an amount. The footer shows Total draft and a short summary. Nothing is in the estimator yet. The card says Review each line. Accept pushes into the project estimator.

  5. Accept the scope

Click Accept scope only for a list you want in the estimate. Rehabfolio adds the lines and opens that project's Estimator. The notice is Scope accepted into estimator. If you leave without accepting, the draft is dropped and the estimator stays as it was. Edit the accepted lines in build a scope line by line.

  6. Or generate from the photo log

Open the project and click Photo log. Under Project photo log, the panel is Walkthrough set plus the project name. It says to upload photos, tag room and phase when you can, then generate a draft. With an AI model configured, up to 6 images are inspected, not just counted. Click Generate scope from photos. While it runs, the button says Analyzing photos… and the status says Reading photos · inferring rooms · drafting quantities…. The Draft estimate card shows a vision pill such as Vision · 4 photos, Vision unavailable, or Tags only, plus a confidence percent. Click Accept scope to push the lines. The notice is AI scope lines added to estimator.

What the fields mean

Project chooses which property's photos and templates are used. Walkthrough set is the photo count for that property. Room and phase tags on each photo give the draft a better room list. Without tags, the draft can still run from templates and the photo count.

Draft estimate is a suggestion. Each line has a description, scope of work, quantity, and labor plus material cost. Total draft is the sum of those lines, not a contract price. Accept scope writes them into the estimator as interiors, exteriors, or systems based on the line. Vision · N photos means images were inspected. Tags only means the draft used room and phase tags or templates without inspecting images. Vision unavailable means inspection could not run and the draft fell back.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Tag the room and phase before you generate. See keep a photo log. Up to 6 images are inspected on a model run.
  • Notices include Vision scope ready, Scope drafted without vision (fallback), Scope drafted from tags/templates, and Create a project first.
  • When the free photo allowance is gone, this page shows This month's free AI quota is used up (2 property research reports / 2 photo repair lists). Upgrade to Solo for more.
  • Photo scope runs on Free. A locked tool uses That AI feature needs a higher plan. Upgrade to unlock it. The spend ceiling is This workspace hit its monthly AI spend limit. Upgrade for a higher budget, or wait until next month.
  • A viewer sees Your role doesn't allow that action. Ask an owner or admin. Edit accepted lines in the estimator if a draft was too broad.

What to do next

Open the estimator and adjust quantities in build a scope line by line. The same sidebar entry is described in open Photo scope from the sidebar. When bids exist, compare them in compare contractor bids with AI.
